• Help for Heroes - 1940 afternoon in aid of Tedworth House

Each year we hold an Afternoon of 1940s Nostalgia in aid of Tedworth House an Help For Heroes Recovery Centre for servicemen & women - it is a truely inspirational place & we have been raising Funds for the past few years at this annual event.

This year once again the whole community came together in true "Blitz Spirit" and worked together to make a wonderful afternoon filled with air raid sirens, orginal recipes for sandwiches & Rock cakes, together with crowds of people dressed in 1940s clothing. The Deputy Mayor of Aylesbury Cllr Allison Harrison was in attendance & helped judge the best dressed - not an easy task.

Music was supplied by Clare samways giving a wonderful rendition of songs from the 1940s era , with a guest solo from Mr David Clarke who was in his full 1940s groove & won over the crowd. Richard Willetts the musician for the singalongs and accompanying our singers did a wonderful job too !

it was a great community effort where both young & old came together to remember those who currently serve & those that have fallen

£300 pounds was raised & will be sent on to Tedwoth House wiltshire - A worthy Cause!
